Summer Internships
Summer interns scout fields from early May
through the 2nd week in August. Job responsibilities include weekly
monitoring of fields to identify problems from insects, weeds,
diseases, nutrient deficiencies, compaction, or weather conditions
that may affect productivity. Soil sampling may be part of the
interns responsibilities.
Currently, we are interviewing for summer crop
scouting internship positions in Iowa. Those
who have accepted positions are typically assigned to specific
locations in March or April. Those accepting positions before March
have the best chance to be placed in their preferred location. If
needed, we help find housing and provide some housing
reimbursement. We encourage freshmen, sophomores, juniors, and
seniors to apply. Although no scouting experience is required a
general knowledge of agriculture is needed. We provide training
before the start of the position. For interested college seniors
this internship could lead to a full-time position.
